Where we stayed in Cusco

During our stay in Cusco we choose Palacio del Inka as our home away from home. This place is very classy and I'm still totally thrilled by their restaurant. Breakfast or dinner - it was really exquisite and I even got pancakes made from quinoa :-). Also the staff was very attentive and the historic center was in walkable distance. Another big plus: When we arrived, the concierge immediately offered us a seat in the lobby and served us a cup of coca tea. And before we even finished our tea, we were already checked in and our bags were in the room. I guess these little extras made exactly the difference and a very memorable stay for us!

Captured in Cusco

Four weeks ago, my husband and I traveled halfway around the world to attend our friend's wedding and of course to explore the beautiful country Peru.

Our first stop on this adventure was Cusco in the heart of the Peruvian Andes. Cusco is over 3,400 meter (11,000 feet) above sea level and was once the capital of the Inca Empire! Today the city is well visited, because all the trips to Machu Picchu and to the Sacred Valley start from here. But also the mountain setting, the architecture and the people in Cusco are reason enough to visit this amazing city. I'm so glad that we spent here a couple of days!
