Impressions of Istanbul

Good morning everybody!

Maybe you've already noticed from my Instagram feed, that I've recently spent a few days in Istanbul. Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and the only city in the world that straddles two continents: Asia and Europe.

Personally, I loved to see this interesting mix of Western world and Orient.

And to be honest, after these few days, I left with an impression, that Istanbul is a colorful, multifarious and agil city, I would love to visit again.

But for starters, here are my images from Istanbul.

Basilica Cistern
This Basilica lies beneath the city and is located in Old Town.

Hagia Sophia
Now a museum, but from the date of its construction in 537 until 1453, it served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral and seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

Blue Mosque
This imperial mosque is an example of classical Turkish architecture and Istanbul's most photogenic building! :-)
