The Tunisian Desert

Many people choose Tunisia for their annual beach vacation. But unfortunately, just a few know how exciting the south of Tunisia may be. You want some reasons? Here you go!

Chott el Djerid - The Salt Desert

It is the largest salt pan of the Sahara Desert with a surface area of over 7,000 km2. And depending on the season, the salt lakes change in color and appearance. So it's really worth seeing!

Douz - The Gateway to the Sahara

In Douz begin the endless dunes of the Sahara. And imagine, here you can have some real fun and ride a quad or trek across the desert on the back of a camel.

Chebika - The Mountain Oasis

In the middle of nowhere is Chebika; A beautiful oasis with waterfalls. I hope you are ready for a swim!

Matmata

In the troglodyte village Matmata is the Sidi Driss hotel, which was used in 1976 as a filming location for Star Wars Episode IV (home of Luke Skywalker on the planet Tatooine). Pretty cool right?

And now I have some photos of the places I just described.
