Newport, Rhode Island

This year I went twice to the well known New England summer resort, Rhode Island. The mere crossing the Claiborne Pell Bridge is a nice experience but then, there are also all the opulent mansions, the harbor with all the yachts and of course Thames Street with the shops and restaurants. But what are really the must-do's when visiting Newport, Rhode Island?! Here are a few suggestions followed by my recent photos:

From the ocean to your plate. Visit a seafood restaurant!
(For example "The Mooring")

Relax at Gooseberry Beach

Did you ever consider sailing classes?
Think about it! There must be a reason why Newport is the Sailing Capital of the World.

Take the cliff walk that runs along the eastern shore of Newport and enjoy the coastal view!
Book a Newport Mansions Tour
 or
Even more special:
Choose one of the mansions as your wedding location!
(For example the Rosecliff Mansion, which you also might know from the "The Great Gatsby" movie)

Cape Cod, Massachusetts

Last week, my husband and I just packed a few of our summer clothes and went on a road trip to Cape Cod. The weather was perfect and we used the time to explore the light houses and to hang out at various beaches. We also visited the lovely towns in the area and enjoyed the local seafood at night. So overall, the beaches and sand dunes in the east were absolutely stunning and the last minute getaway couldn't have been any better!

Enjoy my pics ;-)
