Revere Beach, Massachusetts

This beach is just 6 miles north of Boston and America's first public beach which was established 118 years ago (1896). I have to admit that Revere Beach is not exactly the Caribbean and hasn't always had the best reputation but it is still a great place to get some sea breeze and take long walks. It is clean and perfect for a few relaxing hours on a sunny day in April. And the best thing is: You can use the public transportation to get there (MBTA's rapid transit Blue Line, Wonderland station).

Where to Eat in New York City

A few of my recent dining experience I liked most:

Breakfast & Brunch

Cheryl’s Global Soul! A very tiny but charming restaurant in Brooklyn with yummy buttermilk pancakes. To be quite honest, I liked this place more than Clinton St. Baking Company in Manhattan who supposedly have the best pancakes in NYC. You might have to wait awhile for a table but it´s really worth it and the prices are unbeatable!

Ze Café! What can I say: It was love at first sight! I love their interior and the fresh flowers are so beautiful. The food presentation is also very nice and the staff attentive. If you decide to come here for lunch or dinner, you should go with several courses because the portion sizes are kind of small (at least I felt this way). This place is located in Midtown East on 1st Avenue and 52nd Street. For instagram picture click here.

Lunch & Dinner

Marys Fish Camp! Casual seafood restaurant in Greenwich Village. The waitress was super friendly and our lunch delicious.

B4! Located in East Village, the B4 restaurant is a really lovely place inspired by mother nature with outstanding service and lots of charm. Everything we ordered tasted good. I would definitely come back and try more dishes from the menu.

ABC Cocina! I came here for dinner and had a really good time. If you ever have the chance to come by, don´t miss to order the spring pea guacamole and the beef tenderloin, it is so delicious! My overall experience at this restaurant was just perfect and I loved the decor. For instagram pics click here and here. You will find ABC Cocina in the Flatiron district at 19th Street between Park and 5th (next to ABC store).

Robert Restaurant!  This restaurant is located atop the MAD Museum (Columbus Circle) and deserves in my opinion for everything five stars. The service is perfect, the view is perfect and guess what, my lunch  was perfect too :-).  I have absolutely nothing to complain about!

My recent Trip to New York City

Some of you, who are also following me on Instagram might have noticed that I spent the last week in New York City.

Particularly I enjoyed this trip because it was very different than my past ones. One main reason why I feel this way was surley that I've been already to all the major sights in the past and had now much more time to look closely at neighborhoods all over Manhattan and Brooklyn. Another reason was probably the fact, that I tried more restaurants than usual and experienced extensively the New York nightlife. But let's stick in this post to my daytime activities and what I enjoyed most:

One of my favorite neighborhoods was Greenwich Village and not just because I finally did something what I dreamed of for years: I went to the famous "Carrie Bradshaw" house which is located on Perry Street.

And of course, since I was already in the neighborhood, I couldn't resist and stopped as well at Charles Street where Sarah Jessica Parker lives for real.

Thanks to this Vogue video, I also know how Sarah Jessica Parker's house looks from inside (just in case you are also interested).

Furthermore I also noticed that Brooklyn has many nice neighborhoods and a lot to explore. Here is what I liked most in Brooklyn:

The outstanding view from the Brooklyn Bridge Park and the view of the Manhattan Bridge if you walk down the Washington Street! (Click here to see the picture I took from the Washington Street). I also totally fell in love with Brooklyn Heights and its promenade.

Other neighborhoods I really enjoyed too were Prospect Heights and the western side of Crown Heights. I loved its green space, the vintage shopping opportunities, the nice cafes, the rowhouse buildings and especially the people. Mixed culture everywhere but it seems like all getting along! It was so great to spent an afternoon there.

Of course I also spent some time in Williamsburg. For over 4 hours my friend and I explored the Hasidic Jewish neighborhood, the area around Broadway and after a culinary break at Summers, we ended up window shopping at Bedford Avenue.

So my overall statement to this trip: I barely slept, walked my feet off and got priceless impressions, memories and pictures!

Spring in Paris

Spring is such a wonderful time, especially in Paris if...

...you are sitting at the Printemps rooftop terrace, enjoying the sunshine and gaze at the Sacré-Coeur.

Or if you stroll through the city and decide to stop at the tranquil Square Edouard VII.

And when you notice beautiful places like the Fontaine Saint-Sulpice on your way to the Jardin du Luxembourg.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but Paris is always a good idea!
