After our first week at the beach and the area around, we went on the second week to the spiritual and cultural heart of Bali:
- Ubud -
While visiting Ubud, we were staying at the Komaneka at Bisma Hotel and had this fantastic view of the rice paddies and the tropical forests.

The hotel itself had also a very impressive pool area, beautiful gardens, and delicious Balinese dishes at the restaurant. A place where you can really relax and get away from all the trouble!

Another thing what we really appreciated about the hotel was the free shuttle service that took us every day to the center of Ubud. And once there, we discovered the markets, the wide variety of balinese arts and crafts and of course more temples.

But the highlight of all our Bali activities was undoubtedly the Ubud Monkey Forest. So many free-range curious monkeys and a lot of fun! We also ended up buying several times bananas, since it was so entertaining feeding the monkeys.
